Zarafa Camp Botswana

Zibadianja is set in an ancient Jackalberry and Red Ivory forest, with magnificent views of floodplains. The Camp is located in the extreme east of the Selinda Reserve, and looks onto the Zibadianja Lagoon.

Accommodation is in 4 large, uniquely designed and luxuriously appointed tents, each a 100 square metres in size. The tents are positioned along the edge of the forest, and each offers a spacious bedroom, separate lounge, en suite bathroom (complete with copper bath), and shower. There is also a private plunge pool, and shady veranda.

The main area of this small and intimate Camp is under canvas, with an emphasis on the view. The lounge and dining facilities can be enjoyed under cover or on the full length deck shaded by giant broadleaf trees.

Meals are table d’hôte and include a light breakfast at dawn, a hearty brunch on return from the morning activity, afternoon tea and snacks before the afternoon activity, and finished off with a three course dinner in the evening.

Game viewing is flexible, and based on the best times for game viewing – generally early morning and later afternoon/ evening, when game is more active. With the camp positioned in a game rich area, game viewing is often excellent from the comfort of your private veranda. Guided walks are also available, and there is a sunken hide at the waterhole.

This is an area known for its elephant herds. The lagoon is home to hippo and crocodile, and hosts excellent birdlife. The endangered wild dog, is usually resident and the Selinda pack frequently dens near the camp. There are a good number of other species in the area, including buffalo, giraffe, plains zebra, and a variety of antelope species. Night drives bring the chance to see the elusive civet, serval and wild cat.
