Ibo Island Quirimbas

The Quirimbas Archipelago in Northern Mozambique is fast becoming one of the world's hottest new destination. Ibo Island Lodge is a new addition to this part of the world, with three private colonial-style beach mansions, all available for exclusive hire.

Virtually unknown to the outside world and undisturbed for centuries there is a place where time has stood still. This is Ibo Island, or as the locals call it: Ilha do Ibo.

Nestled in the awesome Quirimbas Archipelago of northern Mozambique, and nominated for World Heritage status, Ibo is
an island that is beautiful, remote and untouched by commercial developments and one of the most intriguing, idyllic and romantic islands you could dream of visiting.

Located right on the prime waterfront site, where romantic dhows sail out to sea on each high tide, the lodge offers a
classic island experience, and with just twelve luxury rooms assures guests of exceptional service and flexibility.

The large, en-suite, air conditioned luxurious rooms are individually designed, and boast antiques and handcrafted furniture, with magnificent carved wooden doors and shutters that evoke the building’s original design. The wide verandas are adorned with mahogany and teak day beds, carved by some of the islands most skilled artists and decorated with the softest of cushions covered in vibrant local fabrics. Ibo Island Lodge is stylish, elegant and unique.

The lodge encompasses three magnificent mansions each over one hundred years old with walls over a meter thick and lofty high ceilings.

The three mansions of Ibo Island Lodge are called Villa Paradiso, Villa Niassa and Villa Bela Vista. Accommodation is split between Paradiso and Niassa only - Bela Vista is the public area of the lodge and houses the Lodge's restaurant, shop and the main pool in the main garden.

All bedrooms are individually designed and unique, with many opening onto private verandas, decked with hand crafted furniture and soft cushions covered in vibrant local fabrics.
