Flatdogs Camp,
South Luangwa National Park, Zambia

Situated in 100ha (240 acres) of prime river frontage, just 1Km from the entrance to the South Luangwa National Park, the recently rebuilt and refurbished Flatdogs Camp is set in a spectacular riverine forest with continuous shade from Winterthorn and Mahogany trees along the river.

Behind the Camp is Acacia-park, dambo and lagoons highly populated with Game. The Camp is sandwiched between two elephant crossing points and is a favoured feeding ground of Thornicroft giraffe, as well as resident puku, impala, bushbuck, waterbuck, buffalo etc. So the Game viewing opportunities that exist from within the Camp itself are spectacular.

As well as the large Camping ground, favoured by many of the 'overland' expeditions, Flatdogs has just four spacious chalets each of which can accommodate 4 people in two separate rooms on two levels. There is a shared en-suite bathroom and a communal kitchenette and dining room so they are ideal for a Group of four, and extremely comfortable for just two.

Facilities at Flatdogs include dining room open all day serving breakfast, luncheon dinner and snacks, and a stunning new bar which is the main meeting place for guests. There is a swimming pool so that you don't have to share your 'cooling off' with the crocodiles!

Activities from Flatdogs are into the South Luangwa National Park, and are by 4x4 Game viewing vehicle accompanied by a qualified and registered Guide. Game drives are usually early morning, late afternoon and at night. Walking safaris are also conducted in the Park - truly the 'only' way to go 'on safari'.
