The exclusive, luxury thatched Vilanculos Beach Lodge, located on the beach just five kilometers from the town of Vilanculos, is a perfect base from which to explore the tropical Inhambane province, and the pristine islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago directly opposite the Lodge.

Accommodating just 35guests in secluded chalets built on stilts, each has a private view of the ocean. All chalets have en-suite bathroom with a shower, and a private balcony. Each is tastefully decorated using the most magnificent of local woods, a design feature throughout the Lodge.

Freshly caught fish, calamari and crab and lobster are tantalisingly prepared together with exotic Portuguese dishes as well as Western cuisine.

The bar is a focal point for many of the colourful "International locals" of Vilanculos.

The area is a snorkeller and diver's paradise. The Lodge can arrange for expert guides to take you to breathtakingly unspoilt reefs. In crystal clear waters, watch the vast array of jewel-like fish and the extraordinary shaped corals.

The Moçambique channel offers anglers the experience and exhilaration of fighting marlin and other game fish. The Lodge can arrange for a professional and fully equipped team to take you into the deep. Saltwater fly fishing is also available. First-time fishermen will be helped every step of the way.
