Linyanti Bush Camp
Linyanti,The Chobe National Park, BotswanaThe Linyanti is tucked away in the west of the Chobe National Park, and being secluded, is far less busy that the Serondela area. The Linyanti, named for the River (which is itself a tributary of the Chobe), is, ecologically, a miniature Okavango Delta – with its own permanent water-ways, papyrus-lined lagoons, reed-beds, and towering trees. Unfortunately the Park only touches the River for a short section on the far eastern edge of the 900 square kilometre Linyanti marsh. However, there is still plentiful wildlife, with excellent numbers of elephant, buffalo and zebra congregating along the river in the dry season, and giraffe, impala and roan antelope being seen in the forests, and birdlife is diverse and numerous. Linyanti Bush Camp is positioned in the Linyanti area, in a private concession adjacent to the Park. There are camps in nearby private Reserves – Zibadianja and Selinda in the Selinda Reserve, and Kwando Lagoon and Lebala – which are on the western side of the Linyanti marsh. There are 2 Safari Camps in this areaZibalianja Camp which is a superb classic safari camp. Small – only 6 guests maximum, traditional tented safari camp situated on a palm island on the edge of the northern Linyanti Swamps. Selinda Camp, a comfortable tented safari camp situated in a private wildlife reserve on the banks of the eastern Selinda Spillway, a waterway linking Botswana's Okavango Delta to the Linyanti Swamps. |
