Day 1: Johannesburg – Livingstone

On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport you will be met by an Island-Safari.com Representative and taken to the check-in desk for your scheduled flight to Livingstone

Upon your arrival at Livingstone Airport you will be met by a representative and assisted onto your short road transfer to Island of Siankaba. On arrival you will be welcomed by the management who will show you to your room give a brief overview of the lodge and area and will then discuss which activities you would like to do during your stay.

2 x Nights at Island of Siankaba in a twin room with private en-suite facilities. Accommodation includes all meals, local drinks, laundry, 1 tour of the Falls, 1 sun downer cruise, canoe trip and visit to the village school.

These days are at leisure to enjoy the numerous optional activities e.g. Bungee Jump, White Water Raft, Am or PM Elephant Back Safari, flight over the Falls, Tour of Livingstone etc, etc. These tours can be pre booked or arranged by the lodge management when you arrive.

The Islands of Siankaba comprises of two densely-forested, sand islands in the Zambezi River, upstream from the internationally renowned ‘Victoria Falls’. The Islands of Siankaba is a classic forested retreat and has been developed as a luxurious camp, offering 6 secluded chalets linked by a footbridge to the main bar and dining area. The uniquely designed chalets are constructed of teak and custom-made canvas tenting and are raised well above ground levels in the tree canopy. Private balconies extend over the river. Activities at the Lodge include guided birding and tree walks on the main island’s nature trail, guided fishing trips for the elusive Zambezi Tiger, sunset river cruises and dugout canoe trips around the Islands. Day trips to Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park (Botswana) are arranged on a daily basis. The Islands of Siankaba is an ideal destination for people who wish to visit the Victoria Falls but who would prefer to stay away from the hustle and bustle around the Falls. It is also perfect for those who want to experience something unique and secluded. The Islands of Siankaba is an incredibly romantic and picturesque destination which would appeal to honeymooners.

Day 3:

Today you will be transferred by road and boat to Chobe Chilwero. This transfer takes approximately 2 hours and is quite unique as where you cross the river is where the 4 countries being Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana and Namibia all meet. You only clear Zambia and Botswana customs and immigration. On arrival you will be welcomed by the management who will show you to your room give a brief overview of the lodge and area and will then discuss which activities you would like to do during your stay. Enjoy a lovely lunch and afternoon relaxing before your pm activity. You then return to the lodge in time to freshen up before a delicious dinner accompanied by the sounds of the African bush.

Day 5:

After breakfast and an early morning activity (time permitting) you will be transferred by road to Kasane Airport (10 minutes) where you will be met by your pilot and transferred by light aircraft to Baines Camp. On arrival you will be welcomed by the management who will show you to your room give a brief overview of the lodge and area and will then discuss which activities you would like to do during your stay. Enjoy a lovely lunch and afternoon relaxing before your pm activity. You then return to the lodge in time to freshen up before a delicious dinner accompanies by the sounds of the African bush.

This exclusive lodge is named for famed nineteenth century explorer and artist, Thomas Baines. The inspiration for these paintings is evident when looking at the waterscape that lies beyond the lodge. The area is home to a wide variety of big game including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog.
 
Wooden decks offer expansive views over the permanent water of the Boro River and a lagoon teeming with life. The elevated suites feature a spacious bedroom, with softly draped fabrics adding the romantic touch of a bygone era. The four-poster beds are fully mobile, giving guests the choice of slumber under star laden skies. Avid astronomers will delight in stargazing from the privacy of their own deck. The main area features an oversize deck for outdoor dining and views over the permanent water of the lagoon, as well as a swimming pool for refreshing sunbathing.
 
This area, situated on a private concession neighbouring t he Moremi, is superb for viewing all animal and bird species. Guests may explore by land and water, often into the night to discover nocturnal species. A myriad of waterways, feathery beds of papyrus, and animal species, large and small, are waiting to be discovered. Sometimes there is no better way to tune into the bush than on foot, and walking safaris will be a specialty at Baines, with skilled, armed guides introducing the area’s natural wonders. The choice of activities will not end there. The unique and educational elephant interaction, offered at Stanley’s Camp is also available to guests at Baines’ Camp. Please note that this activity will not be available from 15 January to 15 February due to the annual holidays for the elephants!

Chief's Camp lies 19 km from Mombo Camp, an area renowned for its abundance of wildlife - ensuring plenty of excellent game-viewing opportunities. The area is particularly well known for its large concentrations of elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and Painted Wild Dog, to name but a few. The Chief's Island region is unique in that large numbers of plains-game and predators are found here throughout the year. One of Africa's most untamed and unexplored areas, this seasonal delta undergoes constant change. Lagoons, winding waterways, reed beds, and Mopane and acacia woodlands make up this rich landscape.
Chief's Camp will offer the ultimate in lodge luxury, providing all the necessary modern conveniences whilst maintaining an air of subtle and understated elegance. Twelve twin-accommodation units are offered as well as a spacious public and dining area and a swimming pool, all of which have been designed to make the most of the natural landscape. With the expertise of skilled interior designer, Caline Williams-Wynn, the décor features earthy tones and natural and textured fibres, resulting in a contemporary African feel. The lodge has been skilfully integrated into the landscape and promises an immersive African experience - so much so that guests can often view game without even leaving camp! The camp's main lounge area houses a reference library and binoculars are available for guests who may have forgotten theirs. Game-viewing platforms in the camp complete the diverse viewing options.

All game drives are conducted in high open Land Cruisers accompanied by professional guides, offering a better vantage point from which to view the surrounding wildlife, and are equipped with picnic hampers containing the essentials for morning coffees and sundowners.

Day 9:

After breakfast and an early morning activity you will be transferred by light aircraft to Maun in time for onward flight to Johannesburg.
